The pompous Bob Broley has always been a fixture of the show. Imagining himself to be ARTV's equivalent of Walter Cronkite, Bob Broley covered major events of the show and did many interviews with the other characters. One of his most famous interview attempts was with Tim Conway where he was unceremoniously kicked out in front of his fellow newsmen. Within the show one of his preferred subjects (or victims) was Buzzy Cookman who was constantly teased with the false hope of promoting Buzzy's cookbook. Easily irritated by children, little Woody Roamer was a constant thorn in Broley's side. |

Being the newsman he was, Bob was always on the spot for all of the major events of the show. He made made hay of the sex scandal during Art Roamer's campaign for Governor, bringing along a camera crew to embarrass Art to the fullest extent. This was well before any of the recent political sex scandals had been in the news. Bob himself was not entirely free from scandal considering his "bouncing bed" interviews with Miss Trudy Velvet. And despite all his claims of journalistic purity he still wasn't above taking a guest acting role in the movie "True Velvet" or taking sides with Stormi Link during the alien takeover of the A&R ranch.. Bob Broley always tried to have the advantage in every situation, often earning him the animosity of Art and the others. |
