Art's long-time sidekick and best friend, Buzzy Cookman was one of the most important ingredients of the Art Roamer show. He was the grandfather Woody never had. Being short in the brains department, not to mention the cooking department, this large man had a heart of gold. Buzzy's great ambition was to have been a world famous cook, but he had to settle for being known only for being the creator of the "Cactus Milkshake". |

Art and Buzzy's long friendship began when they met during the filming of one of Art's many "B" Westerns at Pacific Cowboy Pictures in Hollywood. Buzzy had been a horse wrangler before they met. Their friendship was firmly cemented when Buzzy pushed Art out of the way of a stampeding herd of wild burros during a powerful and out of control action sequence of one of Art's movies. Buzzy still bears the scar from the sharp hoof of the lead burro. Buzzy later became a fixture of the Art Roamer Round-Up T.V. Show. |

Although Buzzy loved little Woody, he loved to tease the boy. He also protected Woody from the schemes of ARTV Anchorman Bob Broley. It was Broley who in turn sabotaged Buzzy's efforts to promote his unique cookbook. Buzzy accompanied Art on virtually every adventure, including the visit to Clint Eastwood's estate during Art's attempt to return a misplaced Oscar to Eastwood. To this day Buzzy and Art continue their close friendship in beautiful Swan Lake, Wisconsin. |
