Marvelous Marvie

One of the eagerly awaited features of the Art Roamer Round-Up TV show was "Marvelous Marvie" which starred the effervescent Marvelous Marvie and her/his friend Leonard Sawyer, a butcher from Meckling, South Dakota. Occasionally joining them was Lenny's son Kenny who, like his father, was afflicted with a wagging tongue. Every show Marvie, with Leonard's help would demonstrate ways to feel better about yourself.

One of Marvie's regular pre-occupations was physical exercise and Marvie was always ready to instruct out-of-shape Leonard Sawyer and his son Kenny (as well as the TV audience) the fine points of becoming physically fit with the help of Marvie's patented exercise sponges. Marvie was always quick to point out that there was a distinct difference between natural and synthetic sponges and that the technique for each was quite different. There was once even alien sponges on the show, something that really scared Lenny and his son, Kenny.

Besides the use of physical exercise to feel better about yourself, Marvie would generously use hugs and sweet talk to improve one's self-image. Marvie would also resort to sniffing flowers to demonstrate tenderness and how to appreciate sweet and beautiful things. One of Marvie's favorite pastimes was to gaze into a mirror, which was also present during every Marvelous Marvie episode.
